This project I did when took a subjet of virtual product optimization . We optimize a crane by simulating it with PTC Creo finite element analysis. Following is the result of simulation:
The left crane image is the crane’s form before optimization whether the right side is the optimized crane. The maximum stress (shown by red color) on the optimized crane is distributed uniformly, so the max stress is not concentrated on the corner only.
